Having a massage while expecting or after birth. Showering before and after

Many pregnant women are asking whether it is best to have a shower before or after having a massage.
Showering before having a massage is good because it washes away dust, sweat, and other environmental pollutants. This eliminates the risk of these substances being absorbed through the skin with the massage oil. And the massage therapy itself is much more effective if the skin is clean, maximizing the benefits of gentle friction.
Showering after massage will not alter the effect of massage oils, as these are most effective during the procedure itself. Hence, there is no need to worry about showering after the massage. It is however important to make sure that the water isn’t too hot, especially if you have chronic low blood pressure.
At Active Center we can provide you with everything you need to have a shower before or after having a massage.
Our massage therapists are experienced in giving massages to expecting and new mothers. They are trained to use a special technique on new mothers during the first month after birth, which helps to reposition the genital and abdominal organs that were displaced because the increased size of the uterus throughout pregnancy.
